  1. Welcome to the Official 1995/1996 NFL Interactive Yearbook!

  3. System requirements:
  4.  
  5. The minimal system requirements for running the NFL Yearbook are:
  6. Color Macintosh with 68030 processor or better
  7. 640*480 pixels color monitor or larger
  8. 8 bit color (256 colors) or better
  9. 4MB of RAM or more
  10. System 6.07 or greater
  11. Double speed CD-ROM
  12.  
  13. In order to enjoy the full features of the on-line update system, a modem is needed. The modem needs to be Hayes compatible with a minimum baud rate of 2400.

  16. Installing the yearbook:
  17.  
  18.   On the CD-ROM you will find the following items:
  19.  
  20. *This read me file
  21. *QuickTime 2.0 extension
  22. *the installation folder
  23.  
  24.   If you don't have QuickTime installed in your system, drag the QuickTime  extension onto your system folder on your hard drive and restart the computer. If you have an older version of  QuickTime  drag it out of your system folder, drag the QuickTime  2.0 extension from the CD onto your system folder and restart your computer.

  26.  For optimal performance, make sure to turn off any background applications, screen savers and any unnecessary extensions (don't turn off QuickTime or the CD-ROM extensions).
  27.  If you have more than 4MB RAM in your computer, we recommend increasing the Yearbook application memory allocation by choosing "get info" from the file menu and increasing the "preferred size".

  30. Operating the NFL Yearbook:

  32. The Service bar:
  33.  On the upper right corner of the screen you will see the Service bar, giving you the tools to control the Yearbook.
  34.  
  35. 1: The first icon to your right is the expand-collapse button. Pressing it once expands the service bar to reveal all of  it's features, pressing it again collapses it back.
  36.  
  37. 2: The second button is the "Help" button, giving you on-line help for every screen in the yearbook. Once it is pressed, pointing to any function on the screen will produce a help balloon, explaining the use of this function. Pressing it again quits the help mode

  39. 3: The third button is the "Go Back" button. A short click on it will take you back one screen. If you hold down the mouse button you will see a pop-up list of  the screens you visited, and selecting a screen will take you there.

  41. 4: The fourth button is the "Bookmark" button, which saves your current location in the program, enabling you to return to the screen exactly as you left it, even after leaving the program and restarting it.

  43. 5: The fifth button is the "Main"  button. Pressing it will take you from wherever you are in the NFL Yearbook to the Main Menu screen.

  45. 6: The sixth button is the "About" button, allowing you to view the credits and previews for other RealTime Sports products.

  47. 7: The seventh button is the "Settings" button, allowing you to set the NFL Yearbook preferences such as sound volume, sound effects and the modem communication port, for the on-line update service.

  49. 8: The eighth button is the "Print" button, allowing you to get a screen print of your current screen. Before printing, make sure that the printer is set to landscape (wide) in the "page setup" on the file menu.

  51. 9: The ninth button is the "Merchandise" button, allowing you to see and order other NFL products by phone.

  53. 10: The tenth button is the "Update" button, allowing you the get the updates for the 1994 season. The use of the update will be explained in the next paragraph.

  55. 11: The eleventh button is the "Quit" button, allowing you to quit the NFL Yearbook without confirmation.

  58. On-line update:
  59.  
  60.  One of the most unique features of The Official NFL Interactive Yearbook is the ability to receive updates of  the 1995/96 season as it unfolds. Three weekly updates, available through an easy-to-use, one-touch mechanism,  bring  you up-to-date details about games, stats, transactions and injuries. Combined with the historical material available on every game and every player, this CD-ROM presents the most complete picture of your team's chances in next Sunday's match-up.

  62. The Monday Update gives you the complete results and boxscores of Sunday's games and the NFL standings.

  64. The Tuesday Update offers Monday Night's boxscore, final weekly standings, and the current stats for every player in all major categories.

  66. The Thursday Update features the Players of the Week, and an updated injury and transaction report for every team and every game of the following weekend.

  69. Getting an on-line update:
  70.  
  71.  In order to get an on-line update, follow these steps:
  72. 1: Make sure that a modem is connected to one of your serial ports, or use an internal modem. Make sure that it is on and connected to a telephone line.

  74. 2: After starting the Yearbook, choose settings from the Service Bar. Choose the port you are using (modem or printer), choose whether you would like to get all the updates or just the last week's, tone or pulse dialing, and your dial prefix if required. close the settings window. (You only have to do this once.) Please not the area code applies to your dialing area (N.Y. residents may need to delete the 1-212 prefix).

  76. 3: Choose Update from the Service Bar. The first window to appear is your registration window. Please fill in your details to allow us to monitor users logins.

  78. 4: Press the "Get Update" button to get the updated files from our on-line service.

  81. Trouble shooting in the on-line service:
  82.  
  83. The following massages are error massages that may appear in the update window:
  84. "Modem not responding": check the modem and the on-line settings.
  85.  
  86. "No connection": check your telephone line connection, and make sure the dial prefix & on-line phone numbers are correct. If the line was busy try again in a few minutes.
  87.  
  88. "Error during download": this error might occur due to faulty phone line or by another task done by your computer. Make sure that inits are disabled, file sharing is off and no other application is running in the background. The on-line service computer checks with your computer which update files are on your hard drive and only download the missing files, So call again to complete your update.

  90. "No updates": Your computer information is up to date. (This is not an error.)

  92. "Online data cannot be saved": make sure you installed the yearbook as instructed, and you are running of your hard-disk.
